Slope offers Solana hackers reward, threatens with lawsuit

Last week, some solana (SOL) holders suffered a massive hack. More than 7,000 wallets were emptied at a rate of about 20 wallets per second. The problem turned out to be with the Slope wallet. The company now offers the hackers an ultimatum and a reward.

Premium for Solana hackers

on Twitter calls the wallet provider the hackers to return the stolen assets, in exchange for 10% of the tokens as a bounty. Slope does require the hackers to repay the stolen amount within 48 hours. The 48 hours have now passed, but the stolen SOL has not yet been returned. That probably means that the company will now take legal action. It wallet address where the tokens had to be deposited still shows a balance of almost zero, and there is nothing new to read on Twitter either. So it is obvious that it will lead to a lawsuit.

Slope also works with the police and with TRM Labs, a leading blockchain analytics company. The priority is to get users’ funds back.

Unfortunately, however, the amount has still not been returned, and according to one Twitterer there’s a good chance that won’t happen. According to him, crypto offers the possibility to launder money anonymously, although most (centralized) trading platforms nowadays ask for identification.

Crypto hacks are popular

In recent times we have witnessed a record number of hacks. Despite the hard falls in value, hackers acquired no less than 30% more coins compared to last year. Hacking ‘bridges’ between blockchains appears to be very popular at the moment. One of the biggest hacks recently stole $200 million worth of value, and that was just one of many.
