Mendis took four wickets for 64 runs for a total of seven wickets in the game. Nkrumar Bonner and Joshua de Silva, who were 18 out of six, disappointed the Sri Lankan bowlers a bit. They both added 62 more runs in the morning session. But Embuldencia fired da Silva for 54 to end the 100-race partnership.

Bonner was the top scorer with 68 undefeated on 220 balls with seven fours. It was his third test fifty. Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne was declared the ‘Man of the Match’ for his innings of 147 and 83 runs.
