Skechers Aero Burst Review: Comfort and Stability for Daily Training

Skechers Aero Burst: analysis of the new model for daily training

The world of athletic footwear moves at lightning speed. For many years, Skechers seemed to be running a different race. While other brands pushed out carbon plates and super-responsive foams, Skechers kept a quieter profile. They appeared a few steps behind the competition for about seven years. Then came 2025, and things began to shift. Skechers didn’t make a huge splash, but their new effort feels steady. This approach looks like a solid first step towards something truly exciting. We might even see a top-tier performance shoe from them soon. We will certainly be watching.

This new path begins with the Aero collection, which includes three distinct models. We’re focusing on the Aero Burst first. It’s the most comfort-driven option for everyday training. During our tests, comfort was the star, which is a classic Skechers trait. In recent years, Skechers has excelled at creating shoes that feel like a perfect hug for your feet. The Aero Burst delivers that signature comfort, but it also brings a lot more to the table.

These shoes aren’t exactly light, weighing in at 301 grams. However, that weight quickly disappears once you start moving. The incredible comfort and cushioning make it feel much lighter. Much of this comes from the tall midsole. It measures 42mm at the heel and 36mm at the toe, giving it a 6mm drop. This generous foam volume absorbs the impact of each stride very well. Even with such a high stack, every run felt stable. A wide platform helps prevent any wobbles that taller shoes sometimes have.

Another key to stability in the Aero Burst is an H-shaped carbon fiber plate. This plate is tucked inside the midsole foam, just like in the other Aero models. Its main job isn’t to make you faster. Instead, it works to boost that stable feel. The shoe still offers a good spring back, thanks to the HYPER BURST ICE foam. This foam impressed us, even in a shoe designed more for relaxed runs than for pushing the pace.

We’re publishing this review in September, as the weather cools. But most of our testing happened during the peak of summer, in truly scorching heat. This challenging environment showed us that the upper material, while not absolutely perfect, handles well. It offers acceptable breathability, helping to move heat and sweat away from your feet. The mesh also appears quite durable at first glance.

Speaking of durability, a crucial point often missed in reviews is the Goodyear rubber on the outsole. This is a common feature on Skechers’ shoes. It provides top-notch grip and promises a long lifespan. That’s a welcome bonus, especially for a shoe used daily for both running and walking. For running, it’s best for easy speeds. It can handle a short burst of faster running, but don’t expect it to be a speed demon.

Finally, here’s a small but practical detail that can save runners a lot of hassle. The Aero Burst, along with the other shoes in the Aero collection, can be machine washed. Just be sure to follow the brand’s instructions for a successful cleaning.

At 155 euros, the Aero Burst is priced similarly to other leading daily trainers. For a brand not currently known as a major player in performance running, this price might seem a bit high. However, Skechers seems determined to change that perception. This Aero collection has everything it needs to please just about everyone.
