Six out of ten eCommerce recommend early Christmas shopping

Almost six out of ten online stores (56%) recommend users to advance their Christmas purchases this year in anticipation of possible stock breaks as a result of the tensions that are registered in the supply chains. This is shown by a survey carried out by Postpone me among the 1,600 stores that make up its payment platform.

In the opinion of the participants in the survey, it would in any case be a preventive response to the effect that the dissemination of information at this address may have on consumers. In this sense, four out of ten online businesses believe that there may be a shortage of items in the promotional campaign that opens from Black Friday, which also depends on the sector in question.

Forecast of higher turnover than in 2019

Most of the Spanish online businesses, six out of ten (62%) are convinced that this year’s Black Friday and Christmas campaigns will be better in terms of turnover than those of 2019, last exercise prior to the pandemic that developed normally.

Also, in order to maximize results, 85% of surveyed eCommerce plans to extend the Black Friday campaign to more than one day. Specifically, half (47%) say they will keep the offers for a week and 38% even longer.

The majority forecast of online businesses (seven out of ten) is that the end of fiscal year 2021 will also be better than that of 2019 in terms of turnover, which will translate into maintaining employment levels. In fact, this is manifested by practically 9 out of 10 shops (85.35% of the sample).
