Siraj created history against Sri Lanka, no bowler could do this in the history of Indian cricket

Indian team fast bowler Mohammad Siraj wreaked havoc with the ball in the final match of the 2023 Asia Cup against Sri Lanka. Siraj also completed his 50 wickets in ODI cricket by taking four wickets in his second over in the game. With this, Siraj has now become the first player from India and the second fastest player in world cricket to achieve this mark with the fastest number of balls in ODI history.

Mohammad Siraj took a journey of 1002 balls to complete his 50 wickets in the ODI format. In this case, former Sri Lanka spin bowler Ajantha Mendis, who was ranked No. 1, had taken his 50 ODI wickets in 847 balls. Siraj got his 50th ODI wicket in the form of Charith Asalanka.

In the final match of the 2023 Asian Cup against Sri Lanka, Mohammed Siraj set many records with the ball. He has now become the first Indian bowler to achieve the feat of taking 4 wickets in one over. In this match, Siraj took 6 wickets while scoring just 21 runs in 7 overs. Sri Lanka were restricted to just 50 runs in this game.

For the first time since 2002 in ODI, Mohammad Siraj becomes the first Indian fast bowler to take 5 wickets in the first 10 overs. Previously, in 2003, Javagal Srinath had taken four wickets in the first 10 overs in the match against Sri Lanka, in 2013, Bhuvneshwar Kumar had taken against Sri Lanka and in 2022, Jasprit Bumrah had taken four wickets in the first 10 overs in the match.
