Sir Jim Ratcliffe Flies to Carrington, Meets Ruben Amorim – Man Utd Manager Talks

Sir Jim Ratcliffe meets with Amorim

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a co-owner of Manchester United, made quite an entrance this past Thursday. He arrived by helicopter at the Carrington training center. His agenda was packed, including a series of meetings with different club staff members. High on his list for discussion was Ruben Amorim.

This trip had been in the pipeline for some time, according to ‘The Athletic’ and sources within the club. However, the recent string of poor results for the team cast a whole new light on Ratcliffe’s meeting with Amorim. What might have been a routine visit suddenly felt much more significant.

The specifics of their conversation remain under wraps. Yet, the English press continues to push a couple of main theories. One suggests the club’s leaders want Amorim to stay in charge. This view holds even with his firm stance on not changing the Red Devils’ tactical setup.

Another idea floating around is that Manchester United might hold off until the next international break. This pause in October could be a moment for a technical shift. Of course, this would only happen if positive results continue to be slow in coming. The pressure is clearly building for the team to perform better.

Ratcliffe himself gave a public statement about Amorim back in May. He told ‘The Times’ his feelings were straightforward. “Honestly, I really like Ruben Amorim,” Ratcliffe said. “He is a guy who thinks things through a lot.” He added that they often talk during training, sharing coffee and discussing the team’s ups and downs. “I like him,” Ratcliffe concluded at the time.
