The South Indian music industry has been shaken by a disturbing report surrounding renowned singer Kalpana Raghavendra. It was initially claimed that Kalpana had attempted to take her own life by consuming sleeping pills, following which she was rushed to the hospital. However, in a surprising turn of events, Kalpana has categorically denied the allegations, asserting that she never tried to commit suicide. According to the singer, she was having trouble sleeping and took the pills to combat her insomnia.
In a candid conversation with an agency, Kalpana revealed, “I took eight pills, but I still couldn’t sleep, so I took ten more and lost consciousness. I don’t know what happened after that.” The police report had also mentioned a heated argument between Kalpana and her family, which allegedly centered around the educational choices of her daughter. Apparently, Kalpana wanted her daughter to relocate to Hyderabad for her studies, a decision that didn’t sit well with her family members.
The medical team attending to Kalpana reported that she had suffered from a drug overdose. Despite this, the singer firmly maintains that she did not attempt to take her own life. Her daughter, who met with the media outside the hospital, echoed her mother’s sentiments, stating, “Please don’t spread misinformation without knowing the facts. My family is fine, and my parents are happy together. I’m also happy, and my mother will be back home in a few days, fully recovered.”
As reports suggest, Kalpana allegedly tried to end her life at her residence, which had been locked for two days. The building’s security personnel informed the residents’ association, who in turn notified the police. The authorities broke into Kalpana’s apartment and found her unconscious, subsequently rushing her to a private hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment.
