Singapore’s Changi Airport is the best in the world. It won this title for the 13th time. The airport also got awards for best food, best bathrooms, and best airport in Asia.
The rankings come from Skytrax, a group that reviews airports. They surveyed passengers at 565 airports worldwide. The top 2 airports are Changi and Qatar’s Hamad Airport. Hamad Airport is known for its art and architecture. It also won awards for best shopping and best airport in the Middle East.
Asian airports took spots 3 to 6. Tokyo’s Haneda Airport was 3rd and won an award for being the cleanest airport. Seoul’s Incheon Airport was 4th and got an award for best airport staff. Tokyo’s Narita Airport was 5th, and Hong Kong Airport was 6th.
In Europe, Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport was 7th and won an award for best airport in Europe for the 3rd year in a row. Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport was 8th.
Other airports that won awards include Istanbul Airport, which was 14th and won an award for being the most family-friendly. Cape Town Airport won awards for best airport in Africa and best airport staff in Africa.
Some airports won awards for specific services. Taipei’s Taoyuan Airport won an award for best baggage handling. Copenhagen Airport won an award for best security process. Hong Kong Airport won an award for best immigration process.
London’s Heathrow Airport, which is the busiest in Europe, was 22nd. Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport was 39th, up from 61st last year.
