Shubman Gill doesn't fit into India's playing XI! Gavaskar made a big claim

Shubman Gill is one of India's batsmen who plays all three formats. These days, Gill is also part of the Indian team in the three-match T20 series being played against Afghanistan. Gill was included in India's playing eleven in the first match of the series played in Mohali but was left out after scoring 23 runs in just 12 balls. Now, former India player Rohan Gavaskar said that Gill doesn't fit in the playing XI of the Indian T20 team.

Speaking to Cricbuzz after India's win against Afghanistan in the first T20, Rohan Gavaskar said, “Shubman Gill is obviously a quality player. But as of now Yashasvi will play. If Virat comes, he will play. It seems so.” At the moment it will be difficult for Gill to get a place in the starting eleven.

Rohan also talked about the T20 World Cup taking place this year and which three players he would like to see in the Indian squad. For me it should be three players – Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal. I'm not just asking about the squad, but also about the playing eleven.” Now it will be interesting to see which players the selectors give a chance in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup.

We tell you that Gill made his T20 International debut in January 2023. Since then, he has played 14 T20 matches, batting in 14 innings and scoring 335 runs at an average of 25.76 and a strike rate of 147.57. During this period he has scored 1 century and 1 half century.
