Shreyas Talpade is in hot water again. The Bollywood actor, along with 14 others, is facing a new case of fraud in Uttar Pradesh. The allegations are linked to a multi-crore chit fund scam that reportedly went on for over a decade in the Mahoba district.
The scam involved a company called Loni Urban Multistate Credit and Thrift Co-operative Society Limited, which promised high returns on investments to rural folk. Agents of the company collected large sums from locals, claiming their investment would double in no time. But when legal questions arose, the agents vanished, and now a case has been filed at the Shrinagar police station in Mahoba.
This isn’t the first time Shreyas has been accused of financial fraud. Earlier this year, he and veteran actor Alok Nath were booked for allegedly cheating investors of Rs 9 crore in Lucknow. The two actors were also named in a multi-level marketing scam in Sonipat, Haryana.
Despite the allegations, Shreyas has several projects lined up. He’ll be seen in “Welcome to the Jungle” alongside Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and Raveena Tandon, among others. He’s also part of “Housefull 5”, which boasts a star-studded cast, including Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan.
