Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor has sustained an injury on the set of her upcoming film ‘Eetha’, forcing an immediate halt in production. The incident occurred during filming of a demanding dance sequence.
The injury took place last week near Aundhewadi in Nashik, Maharashtra. Kapoor reportedly injured her left toe. Director Laxman Utekar subsequently paused filming.
Kapoor was performing a Lavani dance scene for the biopic. She was wearing a heavy sari and traditional jewelry at the time. The actress has also gained significant weight to portray the lead character.
Sources indicate she lost balance while placing her weight on one foot during a complex dance step. This led to the injury.
Despite the setback, Kapoor suggested shooting non-movement scenes in Mumbai’s Mad Island to avoid further delays. However, her pain intensified, leading to a complete cessation of all filming. Production is now expected to resume in two weeks.

‘Eetha’ is a biopic focusing on the life of Vithabai Bhau Narayangaonkar, a renowned Lavani dancer and Tamasha artist.
The film is being produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub are also featured in the cast.
