Shopify reinforces international sales with the launch of ‘Shopify Translate & Adapt’

Trade is a global industry, with global opportunities. That’s why in 2021 Shopify launched Shopify Markets to remove barriers to cross-border selling and empower merchants to go global by default. Since then, More than 175,000 stores around the world have used Markets to help launch their international business.

In our region, Shopify is helping merchants of all sizes sell internationally, as EMEA international spend through them grew by 117.5% in 2021*. Closer to home, cross-border commerce is on the rise in Spain with merchants now selling to an average of 12 international markets on Shopify. The 44.23% of all traffic to Shopify stores in our country is driven by international consumers, with the 38.36% of total sales generated from abroad.

With over 13 million consumers around the world shopping at Spanish Shopify stores, there is a clear opportunity for merchants to expand into new markets and grow their business internationally using Shopify.
