Shopify enters the musical world with Spotify

Shopify, a Canadian company focused on e-commerce, has decided to sign a collaboration agreement with Spotify, one of the most used music streaming platforms. The objective of this union is the sale of merchandising through Spotify. Listeners will be able to buy any product they want from their favorite artist on the Shopify platform. This is a great advantage for musicians, since they will be able to increase their income thanks to the sale of these products.

“Thousands of artists already choose Shopify as their commerce platform, and now we’re bringing fans and artists even closer with the launch of the Spotify channel,” it states Shimona Mehta, CEO of Shopify EMEA.

How will the alliance between Shopify and Spotify work?

Artists must have activated the account of Spotify for Artists. This allows you to have the Spotify account associated with the Shopify account. Once this is done, the artists will have to publish their articles in the Shopify app. When they have done so, they will see that all of their articles appear directly on their own Spotify channel.

In this way, users can easily access all the products of their favorite artists. Consumers will only have to enter the profile of the person and, there they will be able to see all the articles. It is currently available to all artists on Spotify and to listeners in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
