The world of baseball is about to collide with the popular online multiplayer game Fortnite, as legendary player and current MLB champion Shohei Ohtani is set to join the battle royale. This exciting crossover event is a celebration of Ohtani’s historic season, where he achieved an impressive 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases – a feat that has never been seen before. As part of this collaboration, Fortnite players can expect a range of new skins, cosmetics, and items inspired by the baseball superstar.
Introducing the Shohei Ohtani Skins
The Shohei Ohtani skin will come in three different styles: a white uniform for home games, a grey uniform for away games, and a unique LEGO style for LEGO Fortnite. In addition to the skin, players can also get their hands on the “Decoy” back bling, which is a tribute to Ohtani’s dog, and a pickaxe designed to look like a pitching machine. But that’s not all – there’s also an alternate skin, known as the “Samurai Shohei” outfit, which comes with its own set of accessories, including the “Samurai Screamer” back bling and the “Baseball Batana” pickaxe.
Both skins will be available for purchase separately, but players can also buy them as part of the “Shohei Ohtani Bundle”, which is set to be released on March 17. Although the price of the bundle has not been announced, fans of the baseball star and Fortnite enthusiasts alike are eagerly awaiting its release.
Get Ready for the Shohei Ohtani Cup
To coincide with the release of the new skins, Fortnite will be hosting a special tournament on March 15, where players can compete to win the Shohei Ohtani skin before it’s officially available. The tournament will involve a series of matches, with the winner being the first player to get 10 points within a three-hour time frame. It’s a great opportunity for players to get their hands on the skin early and show off their gaming skills.
Weekly Challenges: Baseball-Themed Fun
The week 4 challenges in Battle Royale will be baseball-themed, with a range of tasks that will give players experience points to level up their Battle Pass. Some of the challenges include:
- Finish in the top 17 in three matches
- Eliminate three players from a distance of over 50 meters
- Throw 17 items
- Deal 54 damage to opponents with the Electric Bat
- Travel 59 units of distance while sliding continuously
These challenges are a fun way to get into the spirit of the game and celebrate the arrival of Shohei Ohtani in Fortnite. With the new skins, tournament, and challenges, there’s never been a more exciting time to be a part of the Fortnite community.
