According to a briefing by security officials, a man has been taken into custody after the accident. The policeman also opened fire to stop the vehicle, however, no one was injured in the firing.
Security officials said the suspect appeared to be fleeing from another incident when he ran over people in the parade.
Following the accident, schools in the area were closed on Monday, while roads were closed for traffic.
