According to director Mehul Kumar, who worked with Govinda and Rajkumar on films like ‘Tiranga’ and ‘Jungbaaz’, the story took place on the set of the latter film. Govinda wore a bright shirt, which Rajkumar liked very much. The latter complimented Govinda, who misunderstood the sarcasm. The next day, Govinda gifted the same shirt to Rajkumar, who got it made into a handkerchief on the set itself.
Rajkumar’s Reaction to the Gift
Mehul Kumar revealed that Rajkumar started using the handkerchief to wipe his nose and hands, leaving Govinda confused. The director added that Govinda must have found it quite strange. This incident showcases the strong bond between the two actors, who worked together on multiple projects.
Rajkumar’s Query on Govinda’s Dancing
In a conversation with Bollywood Thikana, Mehul Kumar also shared a humorous anecdote. Rajkumar once asked him, "Mehul, why does he always keep dancing?" Mehul replied, "He’s a dancer." Rajkumar retorted, "Then why does he keep dancing on the set too?" He never said this in front of Govinda.

Rajkumar, a strong actor in Indian cinema, was known for his short temper and was unpredictable. He passed away on July 3, 1996, at the age of 69. Fans still remember him for iconic films like ‘Tiranga’, ‘Pakeezah’, and ‘Mother India’.
