Television actress Shiny Doshi, known for her roles in ‘Pandya Store’ and ‘Saraswatichandra’, recently opened up about her strained relationship with her father. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, she revealed that her father had insulted her, calling her a derogatory term when she was 16.
Shiny shared that she began her career as a model and made her acting debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saraswatichandra’, playing Kusum Desai Vyas alongside Varun Kapoor. She has since appeared in several serials, including ‘Sarojini – Ek Nai Pehal’, ‘Bahoo Hamari Rajni Kant’, ‘Jamai Raja’, and ‘Laal Ishq’. Her recent performance in ‘Pandya Store’ has garnered praise.
Support from Mother
Shiny revealed that her mother supported her decision to become an actress, despite many others in her family initially mocking her choice. It wasn’t until ‘Saraswatichandra’ became a hit that their opinions changed.
Abusive Language
When asked if her father ever stood up for her, Shiny broke down in tears, revealing that he too used the same derogatory term for her. She recounted an incident where her father questioned her mother about accompanying her to late-night print shoots in Ahmedabad when she was just 16.
Long-Lasting Impact
When asked if she had forgiven her father, Shiny said the emotional wounds still linger. While she has learned from her experiences, she still feels the absence of a supportive father figure in her life.
