Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra Denied Travel Amid $7.2 Million Fraud Probe

Shilpa Shetty has canceled her plans for international travel after the Bombay High Court denied her request to temporarily suspend a Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against her and her husband, Raj Kundra. The couple is embroiled in an ongoing investigation regarding an alleged fraud case exceeding 60 crore Indian Rupees, or more than $7.2 million.

Shetty’s lawyer informed the Bombay High Court on Thursday that the actress would not proceed with her overseas journey. This decision follows the court’s refusal to grant relief on the LOC.

The Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) issued the LOC as part of its investigation into a significant financial fraud. Shetty and Kundra had petitioned the High Court to temporarily lift the circular, allowing them to travel abroad.

However, the court rejected their appeal. This legal setback directly led to Shetty’s travel cancellation.

The fraud case, registered in August, alleges that Shetty, Kundra, and another individual defrauded a businessman of over 60 crore Indian Rupees. Authorities are currently investigating the bank accounts of the involved company.
