The day before yesterday, the developers of Shiba Inu (SHIB) launched Shibarium, the Layer 2 network on Ethereum (ETH). The long-awaited launch of Shibarium seemed to be fast becoming a drama of gigantic proportions. For example, the network is still standing still after launch, and it turned out that just under $2 million in user funds was tied up somewhere. However, the developers of Shibarium believe that there is nothing wrong.
Shiba Inu Layer-2 launch goes awry
If you believe the main developer of Shiba Inu, Shytoshi Kusama, everything is fine: “There was no problem with the bridge and all user resources are safe,” Kusama said in a blog post. He is referring to the $1.8 million cryptocurrency that appeared pegged yesterday Bridge to send assets to Shibarium.
A screenshot of an alleged message from Kusama even appeared online: “We made a big mistake. “We cannot get ETH back,” the message reads. According to Kusama, this is all nonsense. He even says the screenshot is fake; He would never have sent such a message.
Kusama is now angry about the screenshot. In another blog article threatens legal action:
The fake screenshot released today has done incredible damage. I am currently assessing the damage and will be reaching out to Twitter for help identifying the perpetrator so he can be brought to justice. Such attacks on our system by malicious parties will not be tolerated.
Still not convinced? Standing by the statement that the funds “paused” in the bridge are safe, we have therefore decided to “insure” the full amount of $2 million in case it closes after the Shibarium restart problems.
The Shibarium network is still down
According to Kusama, the Shibarium launch only had problems due to network congestion. In other words, the network was overwhelmed by the massive influx of users.
“The technical issues weren’t Shibarium’s fault. This was due to the huge influx of transactions and new users immediately following the launch of Shibarium.”
Says Kusama. In half an hour, the Shibarium network received 160 million processing operations. However, the network is designed to handle 400 million operations per month. It became the network, so maybe it was all just a bit too much. According to Kusama, Shiba Inu fans needn’t worry. However, the shibarium is located Blockchain still silent. The last transaction is now more than 24 hours ago.
