Shekhar Kapur Reveals Cook Wrote Mr. India 2 Script Using ChatGPT at Waves Summit 2025

The World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit, or WAVES, kicked off in Mumbai with a star-studded lineup. Industry heavyweights like Shahrukh Khan, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, and Allu Arjun were in attendance.

At the summit, veteran filmmaker Shekhar Kapur shared his thoughts on artificial intelligence (AI) and its role in storytelling. He called AI a powerful, democratic tool that empowers people. The director behind hits like Mr. India and Elizabeth likened AI’s impact to the invention of the wheel.

According to news agency PTI, Shekhar Kapur revealed that his cook, Neelesh, had written a compelling script for Mr. India 2 using ChatGPT, an AI chatbot. Kapur was impressed by the script and asked Neelesh how he came up with it. Neelesh credited ChatGPT for helping him craft an engaging plot.

Kapur used this anecdote to illustrate AI’s potential. He emphasized that AI isn’t just a tool but a collaborator that can enhance human creativity. "Just like the wheel, people initially feared new ideas," he said. "AI has given us new ways to think."

Embracing Change

Shekhar Kapur encouraged people to embrace AI rather than fear it. The technology is already integrated into daily life, and it’s here to stay. By adopting AI, we can unlock new possibilities and push the boundaries of storytelling.

The WAVES summit continues to explore the intersection of technology and entertainment, featuring discussions on the latest trends and innovations in the industry.
