Sharon Osbourne recently shared some touching memories of her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne. She revealed his heartfelt thoughts about his fans. It turns out the legendary rocker had a surprising realization about just how many people truly loved his music.
Sharon spoke about these moments in an interview with Pollstar. The conversation happened on July 17 and was published on August 5. Sharon recalled Ozzy’s comments after Black Sabbath’s final show, named "Back to the Beginning." That concert was held in Birmingham, England, on July 5. It was Ozzy’s very last time on stage.
Sharon, who is 72, remembers that night clearly. “He turned around and said to me, ‘I had no idea so many people liked me,’” she shared. She added that Ozzy had always lived a bit in his own world. He simply hadn’t grasped the huge affection from his audience.
For her part, Sharon wasn’t shocked by the outpouring of love. She knows the metal community well. “Oh my God, metal fans are the most loyal in the world!” she exclaimed. “When they’re fans, you have them for life. They don’t go anywhere.”
Their daughter, Kelly Osbourne, also felt the magic of that final performance. The 40-year-old shared her feelings on Instagram on July 5. She expressed deep gratitude for everyone involved.
“Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you,” Kelly wrote in her story. “Thank you to everyone who came to the show last night, and thank you to everyone who was a part of the show last night.” She truly felt the impact on her dad. “You have no idea what it meant to my dad,” she continued. “It was one of the most magical experiences of my entire life, and if I keep talking, I’ll probably end up crying again. So that’s it for now. Thank you.”

Ozzy sadly passed away on July 22. He was 76 years old. His death certificate, obtained by the British outlet The Sun, listed cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s disease as the causes.
Ozzy and Sharon had been married since 1982. They have three children: Aimee, 41, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39. Ozzy also had two older children, Jessica, 51, and Louis, 49, with his first wife, Thelma Riley.
The Osbourne family released a heartfelt statement at the time, which they shared with Us Weekly. “With a sadness that goes beyond words, we inform that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne passed away this morning,” the statement read. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect the privacy of our family in this moment.”
Ozzy was laid to rest nearly a week later. Sharon and their children were among those who paid their respects at a private ceremony held at the family’s estate in England.
