Sharon and Kelly Osbourne recently paid heartfelt tributes to the late Ozzy Osbourne on what would have been his 77th birthday. The family honored the rock icon with social media posts and a special physical memorial.
Sharon Osbourne, 73, shared a video montage on Wednesday, December 3. The clip began with footage of a birthday tribute erected at the Black Sabbath Bridge in Birmingham, England.
Birmingham is the birthplace of Ozzy and his Black Sabbath bandmates. The bridge was decorated with purple flowers and a message reading "Happy Birthday, Ozzy."
Sharon’s video, set to Ozzy’s 1995 song "See You on the Other Side," showcased various photos from different stages of his life. "My dear husband, I celebrate the day you were born," Sharon wrote. "I will never let go of your hand until I see you on the other side."
Ozzy and Sharon’s daughter, Kelly Osbourne, 41, also shared her own video montage on Tuesday, December 2. Her post included clips from her visit to the Black Sabbath Bridge tribute in Birmingham.
Kelly’s video intercut these scenes with old family photos and home videos of her father. "Happy birthday, Dad! You definitely didn’t die an ordinary man!" Kelly wrote.
Her post featured Ozzy’s 2020 song "Ordinary Man," which includes Elton John. Kelly added, "Life without you is hard, but there’s not a single day I don’t dedicate my life to loving you and honoring your legacy."
She continued, "I miss you more than anything in the world. I love you for eternity! What I wouldn’t give to see you blow out one more candle!"
On Wednesday, Kelly shared another tribute, posting a carousel of images of herself as a young child with her father. "Happy birthday, I miss you, Dad! I love you more than life itself!" she wrote.
Ozzy Osbourne passed away in July at the age of 76 following a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s disease. His family announced his death to Us Weekly in a statement at the time.
"It is with unspeakable sadness that we inform you that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," the statement read. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time."
According to a death certificate obtained by The Sun in August, his cause of death was cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s disease.
Sharon Osbourne spoke about Ozzy’s passing for the first time on the "Osbournes" podcast in November. She revealed that King Charles III of Britain personally reached out to the family to offer his condolences.
"Our king is an incredible person," Sharon stated. She noted that King Charles III also contacted the family when Ozzy was hospitalized after a motorcycle accident.
"He’s a good, caring, good-hearted man," she explained. "Ozzy, like me, we are monarchists. We respect him, we respect his family. He took the time out of his day to write to us, have it delivered by hand, a note from the king about Ozzy’s passing with his condolences. And that says a lot."
