Shane Watson called Warner a 'former SRH captain' and got this hilarious response in return

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won the 2016 IPL title. Then David Warner was a part of SRH and played a special role in winning the IPL trophy. Warner continued to play for SRH until 2021, although in the final season, Warner was shown the way out of the SRH captaincy and playing XI. Despite his strong IPL record, SRH didn’t even keep him this time. After all this, the news of the altercation between Warner and SRH became common. Also on social media, Warner was seen taking out his anger on the management of the SRH team. In such a situation, when his new team (Delhi Capitals) faced his old team (SRH), most eyes were fixed on Warner. This match was being viewed as the ‘Warner replacement’ and something similar happened in the match.

Warner played an undefeated 92 from 58 balls in this match. Due to fast tackles from him, Delhi scored a huge score of 207 runs, in response the SRH team was reduced to 186. Delhi won by 21 runs and Warner was named ‘Man of the Match’. After the presentation ceremony was over, Delhi Capitals assistant coach Shane Watson addressed David Warner as ‘former SRH captain’. Warner also had an amusing response to this.

After the game, Watson was seen talking to his team players, Rovman Powell and Warner. During this, he said, “I will first go to the former captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who was very emotional in today’s match.” On this, Warner said: ‘Yeah, look, I didn’t need any more encouragement than this in today’s match.’ As soon as Warner said this, all three players had a good laugh.

Watson did not stop here. Taking the matter further, he asked Warner, “Do you think the fire that was inside you today will be the same in the next matches?” To this, Warner said, ‘There’s always a fire inside of me, you know this Shane.’
