Shanaya Kapoor Not First Choice for Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan, Reveals Director Santosh Singh

Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor is set to make her Bollywood debut in the upcoming film “Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan,” alongside Vikrant Massey. The movie, directed by Santosh Singh, is scheduled for release on July 11, 2025. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Singh revealed that Shanaya wasn’t the first choice for the lead role.

The director initially considered Tara Sutaria and Pratibha Ranta for the part, but due to their unavailability, Shanaya was eventually cast. Singh praised Shanaya’s dedication, stating that she underwent months of training and worked with an acting coach to prepare for the role. The film is based on Ruskin Bond’s short story “The Eyes Have It,” with Shanaya playing a theater artist and Vikrant portraying a blind musician.
