Team India’s Selection Committee Makes a Surprising Decision
Mohammed Shami is set to make a comeback to Team India after a 14-month hiatus. The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s selection committee has given Shami a chance to play in the T20 series against England, starting from January 22. However, a shocking report suggests that Shami may not play all the T20 matches against England.
Shami’s Road to Recovery
Shami’s last match for India was an ODI against Australia in November 2023. His last T20 match was in November 2022. After recovering from an injury, Shami played in domestic matches and performed well, paving the way for his return to Team India.
Workload Management
India is also scheduled to play an ODI series against England after the T20 series, followed by the Champions Trophy 2025. According to a PTI news report, Shami may be given a break to manage his workload, ensuring he is fully prepared for the Champions Trophy 2025. However, no official confirmation has been received regarding this decision.
Shami’s Previous Matches
Shami’s last match for India was in the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia. After the match, he underwent surgery in the UK and later played for Bengal in domestic cricket. Although he faced some trouble, Shami has now made a comeback to Team India.
