His new image as a failed cricketer will be seen in the movie ‘Jersey’, the trailer of which he released today with his co-star Mrunal Thakur in Mumbai. Notably, the movie ‘Jersey’, which opens in theaters across the country on December 31, is also a remake of the hit movie ‘Jersey’ of the same name.

Shahid Kapoor, who failed to make a place on the national team as a cricketer and later played the role of a man forced to live in poverty, said during the trailer release that he loved to play cricket in real life during school. . Shahid said it was not an easy task for him to pick up the bat and ball again after nearly 25 years and play cricket for the movie.

Shahid said he had been preparing for the film for four months before filming began and that he was also injured during filming. He said the ball from the original season has been used in every shot in the film and the scenes showing four and six are actually four and six. He said that the film’s scenes related to the cricket match were shot at the Mohali cricket stadium in Chandigarh, which is considered the largest cricket stadium in the country.

Shahid recounted that he was offered a remake of the Telugu film ‘Jersey’ two weeks before the release of his blockbuster ‘Kabir Singh’ and during that time he was reading / listening to more scripts. He said his wife Meera and her manager were also present as they listened to the script for the film. She said that the script for the movie ‘Jersey’ touched her heart so much that she was very moved and began to cry and in such a situation both Meera and her manager were surprised to see her condition.

Shahid said he was offered many movies after ‘Kabir Singh’ became a superhit, but he chose ‘Jersey’ because he felt so connected to this film.

On the issue related to working on another Telugu film remake, ‘Jersey’, shortly after ‘Kabir Singh’, a Telugu film remake ‘Arjun Reddy’, Shahid said he realized after work on both movies. Shahid said that during the release of ‘Suryavanshi’, the biggest film released after theaters opened during the Corona period, he and his team from the ‘Jersey’ film ‘Suryavanshi’ were praying for success. He said that everyone sincerely wanted that after such a long interval, the audience would once again return to the theaters. Shahid said the feeling of the company closing down for such a long period was quite terrifying. Shahid said that no one could understand what was going to happen next and in such a situation it was a very brave and commendable step for the creators of ‘Sooryavanshi’ to come forward and release the film.

Shahid Kapoor worked with his actor Pankaj Kapur in the movie ‘Mausam’. Speaking of his experience working with him again through ‘Jersey’, Shahid said that even today working with his father makes him very intimidating and nervous, but working with him also has its own pleasure. Shahid said that acting while in the same frame with his father teaches him many lessons.
