Sevilla are moving forward in their fight to secure the services of talented Swiss midfielder Djibril Sow, whose stay at Eintracht Frankfurt will end next summer due to his contract expiring in 2024 and his refusal to renew with the German club. Aged just 26, Sow has experienced exponential growth during his four years with the German outfit, and is now keen to make the leap to another league, be it Spanish or Italian.
second account Sports worldAlthough it seemed that his destination would be Lazio, the arrival of Sevilla in the contest has generated doubts in the player. Djibril Sow prefers the Nervionense option, where he has the possibility of revitalizing a midfield which, after Pape Gueye’s farewell, needs to inject strength and new blood. Players such as Fernando, Joan Jordán, Rakitic and Papu Gómez make up a talented midfield, but last season the side suffered from a lack of physical strength in that area, and this is where Sow could make the difference.
Sevilla, however, must choose the right moment to complete the transfer market operation. Lazio have presented a €13m offer, but the Andalusian club are looking to lighten up their squad with a few departures before finalizing the deal. With Rekik’s departure to Al Jazira, Sevilla are hoping to earn additional income through the sale of players such as Rony Lopes (destined for Braga) and Rafa Mir (rumored to Valencia).
Currently. its price is high
Djibril Sow has a valuable market price, estimated at 20 million euros, although his contractual situation will reduce that figure, so Eintracht Frankfurt are asking for 15 million. The versatility of the Swiss international, who made 47 appearances last season, would be a key addition to Sevilla, combining physicality and quality in midfield. However, the Spanish club must act quickly, a task it is currently unable to perform.
