Sevilla Coach García Pimienta Optimistic After Tough Draw at Vallecas

Seville has managed to scratch out a point this Saturday during their visit to Vallecas. Xavier García Pimienta valued the tie in the club’s official media, saying, “We knew the type of game we were in for – Rayo Vallecano is having an excellent season and is a very intense rival that puts you in tough situations. We had our chances in the first half, especially with Rubén Vargas, and also in the second half.” He acknowledged that Ratiu’s goal seemed to tip the balance, but noted that it wasn’t their best game. However, he praised the team’s effort, saying, “It was difficult to match duels, but the players gave it their all. Lukebakio’s goal gave us a point in a very difficult game.”

García Pimienta also commended Nyland’s performance, saying, “I don’t know what happened last week, but when you make mistakes, especially close to your goal, things can go wrong.” He recognized that Nyland had a great game, which was crucial in securing the point. When asked about Lukebakio’s goal, he said, “It was a very difficult game, but Rubén Vargas was very good and played at a high level. Isaac fought hard, and Dodi showed his innate talent, generating scoring opportunities out of nothing.”

Looking ahead to their next game against Real Sociedad, García Pimienta said, “They’re another tough opponent who’s still waiting to play their next game. There are many points at stake, and this team can suffer, but they always give it their all on the pitch. They fought like animals, and that’s what I demand from my players. We’ve added a point, and we hope to have a good week of training and play a good game next Sunday at La Real’s field.” He emphasized that the team still has life left in them and is ready to put in the effort required to succeed.
