Severe earthquakes in Nepal and India, many people died

Kathmandu / New Delhi: An earthquake of magnitude 6.6 was felt in the South Asian country of Nepal, in which 6 people have been reported dead so far.

According to local media reports, strong earthquake tremors were felt in several areas of Nepal early on Wednesday, according to the Nepal Seismological Center, the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.6.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in several Indian cities including the Indian capital New Delhi, three earthquake tremors were felt in the last 24 hours.

The epicenter of the earthquake was the town of Deepail, 158 km away from Pilibhit in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and 340 km away from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.

After the earthquake, at least 6 people have been confirmed dead in Nepal, while many people have been injured, dozens of houses have also been reported to have collapsed.

Local authorities say they are trying to assess the loss of life and property.

Nepal’s Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deoba has expressed his heartfelt sympathy with the victims, in one of his tweets, he said, “I have ordered the relevant agencies to take all necessary measures for immediate and proper treatment of the injured and other victims.” do

Narayan Selwal, a spokesman for the Nepali Army, says that relief and rescue teams have reached the affected areas and two helicopters have also been kept ready.

It should be noted that in April 2015, an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 occurred in Nepal, in which about 9 thousand people died and more than 5 lakh houses collapsed.
