Several people have been killed and injured as a result of an explosion outside the military airport in the Afghan capital, Kabul.
According to the foreign news agency, the explosion outside the military airport on the outskirts of Kabul took place around 8 am on Sunday, the sound of the explosion was heard in the center of the city.
Roads leading to several military bases have been closed for traffic following the incident.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Interior of the Afghan government, Abdul Nafee Takur, has confirmed the explosion and said that several people have been killed in the incident, but the final number of those killed cannot be stated yet.
During the last few months, incidents of explosions and shootings have increased in Kabul.
Last month, there was an explosion inside a Chinese restaurant in Kabul itself, which ISIS claimed responsibility for.
