Servio compared the arrival of Tevez to Central with the arrival of Maradona to Dorados

Central’s goalkeeper, Gaspar Servio, compared the imminent arrival of Carlos Tevez as coach to the Rosario team with what happened when Diego Maradona ended up in Dorados de México for “everything he generates.”

“The first day since the rumor began, it reminded me of Diego Maradona’s arrival at Dorados. That a figure like Tevez comes exploded everywhere, I told the boys to enjoy and learn,” said the former River goalkeeper and Banfield, who cut short in the Culiacán team when Maradona took charge of that team for two championships.

“We are waiting for official confirmation of Carlos’ arrival and ready to learn. Hopefully on Monday we add another three points to move Central forward,” continued the General Arenales native, led by Diego in the second division of Mexican soccer.

Servio, who on Thursday night scored the goal with which Central beat Godoy Cruz 1-0 from a penalty, stressed that Maradona’s figure was “imposing” emotionally and his figure alone “motivated a lot.” For this reason, he considered that the arrival of Tevez could work in a similar way in the Arroyito club. “Rosario Central is crazy, every home game is lived with great euphoria and it is a party for the people. I think Tevez is going to be very comfortable here,” he valued. “We have a squad full of boys, I told them to take advantage of it because it will be a very nice opportunity. We know that it is almost fixed,” added the goalkeeper.

The hiring of Carlos Tevez as coach is almost a fact in Rosario, along with that of Carlos Retegui -former coach of Las Leonas and Olympic champion with Los Leones in Rio 2016- and his three brothers, Diego, Miguel and Ariel.

Central has four points in the championship but the biggest complication is the internal leadership, with the president, Rodolfo Di Pollina, on leave for personal reasons and the elections in October this year. Tevez will arrive hand in hand with businessman Christian Bragarnik with the promise of incorporating soccer players to rank the squad, including defenders from Boca Gastón Ávila and Marcelo Weigandt.
