Serena Williams unequivocally denied speculation that she plans to return to professional tennis, quashing rumors fueled by her recent inclusion on an international integrity agency’s monitoring list.
The tennis icon dismissed the idea as “crazy” in a direct post on social media platform X.
“My God. I’m not coming back. This is crazy,” the 44-year-old American wrote.
Williams last competed professionally at the U.S. Open in 2022, after which she indicated her retirement from the sport.
The recent rumors intensified after her name appeared on a list of players monitored by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA). Such inclusion often precedes a player’s return to the professional circuit.
Omg yall I’m NOT coming back. This wildfire is crazy-
