Selection travels to El Salvador to compete in the World Development Cup

Members of the national triathlon team traveled to El Salvador this Wednesday to participate in the Costa del Sol 2022 Regional Triathlon World Cup, to be held this Friday the 9th of this month in the city of La Paz, in San Luis La Herradura de this Central American nation.

The team is made up of Karel Ramírez, Nailea López Moreta, Yamilis Moreta, Víctor Aurelio Feliz and Alexis Vásquez, with Alfonso González as coach.

Athletes between the ages of 16 and 23 from Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and the hosts from El Salvador will participate in the contest.

"This is a very important event for our athletes since it distributes points for the world ranking. It will also allow us to measure the competitive level of each of them, as well as preparation for the Regional Cup and National Championship that will be held in San Souci on October 15 and 16."Gonzalez said.

Yamilis will be competing in the 14-15 year old category, Aurelio Felíz in the female U-17 category; Ramírez and Moreta López in the female U-19, and Vásquez in the male U-19.

The Dominican delegation left this Wednesday on a Copa Airlines flight from Las Américas international airport, with a stopover in Panama. They will be back this coming Sunday night.

Both Karel and Alexis are from the National District, while Aurelio, Moreta and Nailea are from Ciénaga de Barahona, respectively.
