Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag believes that the India team can rule in Test cricket if Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant play together in the Indian Test team. Sehwag has said this during a conversation with a sports channel.
Sehwag said: ‘He (Prithvi Shaw) is a player who can bring excitement to Test cricket. The opposing team will be forced to consider whether the target of 400 races will be enough for the Indian team with Pant and Shaw on the team. Having Shaw and Pant in one team can rule India in Test cricket. India can win the World Test Championship.
Rishabh Pant has made his mark in Test cricket. He has won India in big matches playing amazing innings many times on foreign tours. At the same time, Prithvi Shaw also started his test race in a very strong way, but then he couldn’t keep up this momentum and had to be out of the test team.
Sehwag also believes that Rishabh Pant should come for the opening in limited overs cricket. He says: ‘We don’t play to score 50 or 100 runs in limited overs matches. We have to score runs fast. Rishabh bats at number 4 or 5, he is in big responsibilities but he can have more success if he gets to the opening.
