Sees the need to create a comprehensive strategy for tourism security on the Punta Cana coast

The growth of tourism on the Bávaro-Punta Cana coast is a reality that can be seen after the pandemic, so the expert Andres van der Horst Alvarez He agreed with the need to create a comprehensive security strategy that should prevail in this sector, in order to prevent unforeseen events from affecting its image.

The general manager of Fiduciaria Reservas fully agreed with what was proposed in the editorial of LISTIN DIARIO last Friday 7, with the title “Urgent Measures” where attention is drawn to the recovery of tourism and the concern that failures prevail in related services provided to tourists that may make them vulnerable.

The expert said that by taking into account a comprehensive strategy on tourism safety, reality catches up with growth and actions avoid risks and situations such as the one that occurred in the accident last week with the bus loaded with tourists.

“I completely agree with Don Miguel Franjul and the editorial about the need to create a comprehensive security strategy of tourism. There is no doubt that tourism has been growing after the pandemic and growth is seen, leading many previous years, so action must be taken to avoid risks, ”he explained.

Van der Horst argued that the threats and growth of this important sector many times they are not seen; however, as the growth of the tourist area is a reality, the community and those who transit have also spread, which must be taken into account.

He cited the traffic movement of a road such as the Tourist Boulevard, and the number of vehicles that move, which is why a strategy is imposed that involves entities such as the National Institute of Traffic and Land Transportation (Intrant), System 9-1-1, the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (Digesett), among other related entities, led by the Ministry of tourism.

Evaluating the proposal of the editorial of the dean of the national press, the expert agrees that this commitment requires urgent measures to be taken, in order to avoid repeating situations already experienced that have affected tourism and that, on the contrary, a commitment be made by the sectors that affect it, including tour operators and carriers.

Van der Horst also stated that: “Tourism is part of security, that those who visit the country are aware of it and that travelers will never travel where they do not feel safe.”

Considering the proposal opportune, he maintained that the reformulation of the tourist transport system is necessary, because as LISTIN’s opinion states: “the country cannot afford to Due to these careless details, their main source of income is left vulnerable”.

Van der Horst also said that the good management, the reasons and the measures taken after the accident of the bus loaded with tourists that turned last week could have repercussions for the country, so the actions must go hand in hand with reality, which tend to guarantee greater security to those who visit the country.
