Seema Haider, a Pakistani national, has made headlines for her viral social media videos after marrying Indian citizen Sachin and settling in India. A recent video of hers is making the rounds, where she reveals her favorite cricketer and why she’s so fond of him.
The Indian government canceled the visas of Pakistani citizens and deported those residing in India following the Pahalgam attack. However, Seema Haider’s name was not on the list of those being sent back. In the viral video, she confesses that her favorite cricketer is Virat Kohli. She told News18, “I like Virat Kohli, not Sachin Tendulkar. Virat Kohli is my favorite. I like his looks and his game.” She added, “Now, I will live and die here,” referring to India. The video, recorded about a year ago, has resurfaced online.
Virat Kohli is one of the world’s most famous cricketers and the most followed on social media. Known for his style, Kohli is currently playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL. His team is currently second on the points table, and he’s having a great season.
A Terror Attack and Its Aftermath
On April 22, a terrorist attack occurred in Pahalgam, killing 26 people, including 25 tourists. Pakistan was implicated in the attack, prompting the Indian government to cancel the visas of Pakistani citizens and deport them. Seema Haider, a Pakistani citizen, married Sachin, an Indian, in her second marriage.
After the government’s decision, Seema Haider appealed to Prime Minister Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi to allow her to stay in India. “I was Pakistan’s daughter, but now I’m India’s daughter-in-law. I request CM Yogi and PM Modi to let me stay in India,” she said.
