Corey Seager hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to help the Texas Rangers beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-3 on Thursday.

Quijada took the mound in the eighth and walked his first opponent, Marcus Semien, before giving up Seager’s homer.

Matt Moore (5-2) got three outs for the win and Jose Leclerc pitched the ninth, earning his seventh save in eight attempts.

Angels Japanese star Shohei Ohtani was left out of the starting lineup but came on as a pinch hitter with one out in the ninth inning. He doubled, before Luis Rengifo and Mike Trout struck out swinging.

For the Angels, the Venezuelans Rengifo 5-2 with a run scored, Liván Soto 1-0. Dominican Magneuris Sierra 3-0 with a run scored.

For the Rangers, Cuban Adolis Garcia 4-1 with an RBI. Dominican Leody Taveras 2-0 with a run scored.
