Scream celebrates 25 years with a tribute to Wes Craven, “the king of terror”

The new installment of ‘Scream’ is preparing for its premiere, scheduled for January 14, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the saga. And for this, nothing better than a video with which the franchise pays tribute to that genius who with the first installment, produced in 1996, revived slasher terror: Wes Craven.

With the theatrical release getting closer and closer, Paramount shares a featurette in which the creator of the saga is honored, with a series of statements from the actors of the ‘Scream’ reboot, as well as directors and other members of the team that have participated in the franchise.

"We consider Wes Craven the king of terror. He was amazing, as a director and as a person", begins by stating Courteney Cox, who is Gale Weathers in the series, at the beginning of the video. "Tears will come to my eyes if we talk about him"adds David Arquette, who plays Dewey Riley.

The featurette also shows how reboot directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett have sought to pay heartfelt tribute to Craven’s work in this fifth installment of the series. "We are such fans, it’s hard to express"Gilett notes. "Made terror cool", adds Bettinelli-Olpin, noting that "everything that goes well is thanks to Wes Craven".

Along with Cox and Arquette, Neve Campbell also returns as Sidney Prescott. The cast is completed by Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Dylan Minnette, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Kyle Gallner, Sonia Ben Ammar, Mikey Madison and Roger L. Jackson as the voice of Ghostface.
