Scott Styris: New Zealand veteran cricketer wants bigger window for IPL, said this big thing

Former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris called the two-plus month window for the IPL in the upcoming Future Tours Program (FTP 2023-27) the right call. He has said that he always wanted the IPL to have a long window so that all players can play this league free of responsibilities towards their national team. Along with this, he has also said that this window will gradually become three months.

Speaking on ‘Sports Over the Top’, Scott Styris said: “I remember 10 years ago there was such a discussion that the window for IPL would increase by 4-5 days with each season and one day it would be three months. It will happen. . We have started to move in this direction. It took a little longer here than we thought, but it’s happening. I think this is also true because it will allow players from all over the world to play freely against national teams. I don’t think this is a bad thing. I was in favor even ten years ago and I still am.

It should be noted that in FTP 2023-27 a window of more than two months has been maintained for the IPL. In other words, there have been no international tours of any team between March and May. This will be of great benefit to players. It will now be available throughout the IPL.
