SCO Summit 2022Recently, the 2022 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. After 21 years of development, SCO has become the largest populous regional cooperation organization in the world. This year the SCO included many countries in the member states and dialogue partnership countries. The scale of SCO has been increasing continuously. What is the reason behind this? Chinese President Xi Jinping presented five experiences of SCO’s success in his speech.
The success of the SCO has been ensured by political mutual trust, mutually beneficial cooperation, equal treatment, openness and inclusiveness and upholding justice and fairness. These five points are fully inspired by the Shanghai spirit, the themes of mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality, consultation, respect for diverse civilizations and the pursuit of common development, which is true multilateralism.
Xi Jinping showed positive steps
As the founding country of SCO, China has always taken genuine steps for the development of SCO. At this year’s summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping and the SCO to strengthen each other’s support, expand security cooperation, deepen genuine cooperation, strengthen humanitarian exchanges, to build a community of close shared destiny. Introduced a series of steps to uphold multilateralism. The theme of the global security initiative introduced by the Chinese side has also been included in the Samarkand Declaration issued at this summit.
Shanghai will set an example for the world
People noted that in this summit of SCO more than 40 achievement documents were passed in the areas of economy, finance, science and technology, culture, network building and foreign movement etc. In addition, the conference also adopted four statements to protect international energy security, protect international grain security, deal with climate change, protect supply chains, protect sustainability and diversity.
