The Exolum project in Immingham, UK, has demonstrated the feasibility of transporting and storing hydrogen using LOHCs. Key highlights of the project include:

Capacity: The project can transport and store up to 20 tons of hydrogen using 400 m³ of LOHC, sufficient to power a hydrogen car for approximately 2 million kilometers.

Infrastructure: An existing oil pipeline, 1.5 kilometers long, is being utilized between the Immingham East and Immingham West facilities.

Quality Tests: A laboratory is overseeing the process to ensure the stability and functionality of the LOHC during transportation.

  1. Green Hydrogen Production Plants: Exolum has established the first integrated plant in the Community of Madrid and a new installation and refueling station in Stockton-on-Tees, UK.
  2. International Collaborations: Exolum is participating in projects like GreenH2Pipes and consortia like Regenerates, and has partnered with the French start-up HSL Technologies to develop more affordable hydrogen handling methods.
  3. Global Expansion: Exolum has acquired 50% of the largest ammonia and NGL storage facility in Houston, USA.
