New York Mets ace Max Scherzer was ejected from Wednesday’s game against the Dodgers for an apparent sticky substance violation.
Scherzer was ejected just before the start of the bottom of the fourth inning after umpires checked his hands and glove.
The right-hander was forced to change gloves after being checked in the bottom of the third inning, in what ended up being his last inning.
The veteran shutout the Dodgers for three stretches, limiting them to one hit and two walks, with three strikeouts.
