Scenes of tall buildings collapsing immediately after the earthquake in Turkey

Immediately after the earthquake in Turkey, videos of tall buildings collapsing went viral on social media, in which women and children can be heard screaming and crying.

On Monday morning, an earthquake occurred in the eastern region of Turkey at 4:17 a.m. local time, with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter of the earthquake was the Turkish border town of Karaman Meras and its depth was about 14 km. As a result of the earthquake, tall buildings became piles of rubble across the bridge.

Hundreds of people are feared to be buried under the rubble of buildings, which may increase the death toll, and the number of injured is in the thousands.

After the earthquake there was chaos and shouting, scenes of Qayamat Sughra were seen everywhere, people kept running in search of their loved ones.

The earthquake was so severe that its effects were also felt in Lebanon, Israel, Cyprus, Greece and Armenia, but the greatest loss of life and property has occurred in Turkey and Syria.
