Riyadh: The Saudi traffic department has issued a directive from the owner of the vehicle to temporarily hand over the vehicle to another person.
According to Arab media, Saudi Arabia’s traffic department, in response to a question from a citizen on Twitter, said that if a vehicle is registered in a person’s name, it can only be driven by a registered person, to drive another person. It must have NOC.
The traffic police said that for the ‘assignment’ (NOC) made to give a vehicle to someone, it is mandatory that no challan of any kind be left in the name of the parties.
It is to be noted that ‘Assignment’ (NOC) is issued by the Traffic Police Department for giving a vehicle to someone temporarily through Abshar system.
According to the law, driving someone else’s car without ‘assignment’ is considered a violation of the traffic law. Lockup release is not possible.
The traffic department said that if the driver temporarily violated a traffic law, the automatic challan would be issued to the original owner in whose name the vehicle is registered.
