Saudi diplomat posted in Afghanistan transferred to Pakistan

Saudi Arabia has closed its embassy in the Afghan capital Kabul due to security concerns.

In a statement issued by the Saudi Foreign Ministry, it has been said that the Saudi embassy in Kabul was closed due to the fear of a possible attack by ISIS. Diplomats and employees of the Saudi Embassy have been shifted to Islamabad.

According to the officials of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Afghan media said that Daesh was planning to target the Saudi embassy with a car bomb.

Earlier, the Taliban government had declared the Saudi diplomat’s departure to be temporary and said that there were no security concerns behind it. Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said that some employees of the Saudi Embassy have gone out of the country for training and will return.
