Saudi authorities veto women from Muhammad’s tomb

The Ministry of the Pilgrimage of Saudi Arabia announced this Sunday that only Muslim men will be allowed to visit the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad in the holy city of Medina.

Those who want to visit the tomb will have to register through the Eatmarna app, while women will have permission only to visit the mosque in which the tomb is located, the Saudi press has reported.

The Ministry has announced a 30-day deadline for granting permission to visit the area of ​​Al Rawda al Sharifa, where the tomb of the Muslim prophet is located.

Any applicant must have the complete coronavirus vaccination schedule and demonstrate it through the Tawkkalna app.

Saudi Arabia suffers a rebound in coronavirus infections. This Sunday it has reported 3,460 new infections in 24 hours, accumulating 578,753 confirmed cases. In addition, one death has been reported, totaling 8,893 since the start of the pandemic.
