Riyadh: Saudi officials have stepped up their anti-trade cover-up campaign to crack down on foreign businesses.
According to the report of Arab News Agency, 20 government agencies of Saudi Arabia are using artificial intelligence to eliminate the business of foreigners running in the name of Saudi citizens.
Abdul Rehman Al-Hussein, a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, said that in the past, investigative visits and reports were used to detect trade cover-up. A commercial cover-up campaign is underway.
It may be recalled that the Ministry of Commerce had seized 851 cases of trade cover during 2021 which were referred to the Public Prosecution.
It should be noted that there are strict penalties for trade cover. Imprisonment for up to five years and a fine of up to five million riyals, confiscation of illegal assets.
