Saudi Arabia issues important guidelines for taxi drivers

Riyadh: Amendments have been made in the rules and regulations of driving taxis in Saudi Arabia. Taxi drivers violating the rules will be fined 3,000 riyals.

According to the Saudi website, the amendments to the rules and regulations of taxis in Saudi Arabia have been implemented since Sunday, April 24.

Minister for Transport and Logistics Services Engineer Saleh Al-Jasser approved the amendments to the action plan.

Under the new amendment, the traffic company is required to comply with all taxi safety requirements before starting the service, such as having a fire extinguisher cylinder, first aid kit and stepney.

It is also important to have a warning sign on the back of the vehicle in case of an accident.

Under the amendment, if a taxi provides service to passengers in violation of the prescribed rules, a fine of 3,000 riyals will be levied.
