Saudi Arabia imposes new fees on car owners

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has decided to charge a new annual fee for vehicle registration and renewal.

According to the details, approval was given to fix a new annual fee (against finance) for the issuance and extension of ‘vehicle registration’ in the country. Fees will be based on petrol cost.

The report states that the Saudi cabinet has decided to acquire an annual competition fund at the suggestion of the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency, which will be taken along with the issuance and extension of vehicle registration fees.

At the suggestion of the Center for Energy Efficiency, the Cabinet has also approved a mechanism to get rid of the extremely old and old vehicles of light vehicles.

In Saudi Arabia, decisions related to used vehicles will be implemented in two parts, while the fee for issuing and renewing vehicle registration will be determined by the classification of the vehicles.

Keep in mind that the traffic department will receive a new annual fee (against finance) on vehicles. This will increase the fee for issuing and extending vehicle registration.
