RIYADH: Saudi authorities have issued important instructions explaining the rules regarding CCTV cameras, in case of violation of the rules, there can be a heavy fine.

According to Urdu News, the Saudi government has said that transferring, releasing or exchanging the recordings of security CC cameras is a punishable offense, and a fine of 20,000 riyals is set for it.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, giving details in this regard on its Twitter account, said that anyone who violates the rules of use of security cc cameras, including transferring, releasing, destroying recordings, tampering with camera equipment, Making or altering the recording will be a violation of the prescribed rules and will be fined 20,000 Riyals.

CCTV cameras are installed at various locations to monitor movement as per the rules and regulations set by the government, there are also cameras that are fixed in place in one direction.

Cameras do not include those installed by common people in buildings, housing complexes or houses etc. to ensure their security.

There is a formal law regarding the use of security cameras, under which the privacy of the general public is taken care of. No one is allowed to watch their recordings without the permission of the Ministry of Interior.

The State Security Presidency or the Judiciary may authorize the viewing of security camera recordings, after which such camera recordings may be accessed.

Manufacturing, importing, selling, installing, operating or repairing security cameras is prohibited by law. None of the above matters are allowed without the approval of the Ministry of Interior.
